1. Drew took his first steps this week!! Yay!!
2. The weather has been HOT! It's really affected Drew's asthma and he's been wheezing since last week. I took him to the doctor and he's now on prednisone on top of the other asthma medication he takes daily. So scary for such a little guy.
3. We had a busy but fun weekend. Two birthday parties and a baby shower.
4. I took Bella to buy new sneakers and an outfit for the first day of kindergarten. Two weeks to go..
5. She chose gray and purple sneakers. They are very grown up looking and have LACES. I said those are pretty cute tennis shoes. She looked at me with a funny look and asked, "what are tennis shoes? these are my running shoes?"
6. Both the girls have hair appointments next week. Isabella is begging for "cute short hair". I'm not feeling it at all. Amelia doesn't want any hair cut off. She wants hers to be as long as a little second grader she looks up to.
7. We went and picked blueberries at our friends house last week. There is nothing like fresh blueberries. Delicious. The kids had a lot of fun picking them. Everytime they eat them, if they're eating the berries they picked.
8. Jason put down the flooring in our attic today. I'm hoping he'll be parking in the other side of the garage by the weekend. He only has one major project left - staining the deck.
9. With school starting up and promotion at church, we're trying to get everyone ready for their new teachers. Jason is teaching Sunday school, I'm helping with 2nd grade children's choir and teaching AWANA every week. On top of all our "normal" school activities this is going to be our busiest year yet.
10. Will finally went and got his Basketball for being fully potty trained now. He's very excited about it and loves to go outside and shoot some hoops every night.

ten on Tuesday
1. We finally have only one child in diapers. Yay Will. It's been a long, slow road and I know it's still going to take a lot of work on everyone's part to remain comitted and accident free. But we're in underwear and we're not going back. Expect to see a drastic drop in Pampers stock :)
2. The only major hurdle left in the potty training is pooping. Will waits until bedtime (an absolute first for him) and the nighttime pull-up to be put on, put in bed, and poops. Every single night. I hear this is typical behavior with most potty trainers but it's on my very last nerve.
3. Will is obsessed with the Cowboys and Indians and the Western channel. He loves and I mean loves John Wayne and old western shows. The other day Jason was watching a war movie with John Wayne and Will said "LOOK Daddy, the Cowboy's on tv!!"
4. Isabella and Amelia are official swimmers. They can both swim unassisted across the deep end of the swimming pool. They think they're big time now. I have to admit, Jason and I are both very proud of them.
5. Drew is allergic to Zinc Oxide. I knew this because of the diaper rash/diaper cream drama. I totally forgot about zinc oxide being in sunscreen. I switched sunscreen after reading a report about the negative effects of spray versus lotion and wouldn't you know, the lotion I switched to contains 14.5%. So my poor baby boy has a terrible rash and blisters all over his face.
6. We celebrated Drew's first birthday this weekend. I still can't believe he's turning one tomorrow. Wow, this year has gone by too quickly.
7. We have less than a month of summer vacation left. While I've enjoyed all the long hours at the pool, I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to a normal routine with the kids.
8. Three more weeks of Mother's Morning Out. I can't thank our church enough, and the ladies who provide this service FOR FREE every Wednesday morning, for doing this. You provide some tired moms with a few hours to themselves each week. I wish everyone was blessed enough to have the wonderful church family that we have found.
9. Will is FINALLY swimming in his puddle jumper. I really think he did this today to impress his little girlfriend but he was swimming in it. Alone and not screaming. In the deep end. With water in his face. I'll take it.
10. I am still waiting on my Mother's Day present to arrive. In case anyone is wondering exactly how long it takes to ship something from China to the southern US? The answer is three months. Jason is more annoyed about this than I am. It's taking so long I kind of passed annoyed 4 weeks ago.

Drew's 1st Birthday Party
We celebrated Drew's first birthday this past weekend. I can't believe he turns one on Wednesday. My parents and my granny came down to help us celebrate. The girls and Will had a great time visiting with Granny! They loved sending text messages with her and talking with her for hours. We sure wish they lived closer.

Ten on Tuesday
1. Wow, what a week..I will start by saying Jason is officially a full time student. He is also on a month long hiatus, already bored and looking for a part-time job to fill his time.
2. He is "unqualified" to work at Lowes and they are looking in to more qualified applicants for the jobs he applied for. I've been to our Lowe's and I'm not sure what they're basing their hiring qualifications on. Let's just say the bar's not set very high..it's not even at mediocre. My husband applies and gets turned down before he even gets an interview. He's a West Point Graduate, three tours of duty, several military honors, (I'll stop before he gets embarrassed) but is unqualified to work at Lowes. You're selling lawn mowers and washing machines, I'm pretty sure he can handle it.
3. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.. the girls continue to do great. I must admit they both do better under the water rather than on top of the water. We're at the pool almost every day and love when our friends can join us. For those of you that ask, we wear SPF 50 every day..
4. Will learned a little lesson in self defense last week and I think I shocked the mother of the child he hit for allowing him to hit her child back. Will is 2, her kid is 4. He picks at Will daily. He had been slapping him across the face with a pool noodle all day and finally Will had enough. He slapped the kid across the back with a water gun. Kid starts crying, mom comes over, puts my kid in time out. Nooooo you didn't. (I believe in letting kids work out their differences themselves. I think we as parents step in and correct situations too often and the kids depend on us later in life to always do this. So I try to stay out of most kid fights.) 1. Don't put my kid in time out - I'm quite capable of parenting. 2. If you're going to throw a sucker punch, be prepared for the "sucker" to eventually punch back..
5. We have several birthday parties this month. Bella went to one last Saturday, Amelia has one this Saturday, Drew's First Birthday is in two weeks :( and we have another birthday party the weekend after. Who knew there were so many July babies?? I love icing so I'm ready for all the birthday cake!!
6. We (I made the decision, Jason did the labor) turned Drew's car seat around this weekend. I know it's a little early but the kid is huge (23 pounds) and it was nearly impossible to strap him in backwards. He looked like a frog sitting there with his legs scrunched out to the side. I also packed up the majority of the bottles because he is down to one of whole milk at night. Only because he doesn't drink a lot during the day and I'm worried about him dehydrating.
7. I'm a little sad that the Wee Man is turning one. This year went by so quickly and he really has been the best little booger of all. He is hands down the fan favorite of his older siblings. He never cries and just laughs uncontrollably at their silliness. What's not to love?!
8. As calm as Drew is in his daily life, he is not calm about a diaper change. He brings it as soon as you lay him down. He's twisting, turning, hopping around, you name a move, he's done it. Screaming bloody murder the entire time. He no longer get the courtesy of a diaper change on a changing table. Or my carpet. He's on the cold, hard wood. It's easier to sanitize after the mess.
9. Bath time is also a favorite time at our house. The youngest little member loves his bath. He hates to get out of the bath and again, screams his head off. (Are we sensing a pattern.) I can't even wrap him up in the towell and he's twisting in all directions and turbo crawling back to the bathtub. Blood red, shaking his hand and screaming at the top of his lungs. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. There will be another bath and another fit when we get out.
10. Will is very into clothes. His favorite outfits are winter clothes right now (yes, with the heat index it's over 100) and a HOODED size 8 OSU sweatshirt that he's swimming in. He also likes to wear the pants and t-shirt backwards. Every morning I catch myself singing the KrissKross song. Ahh, the memories. He likes to accessorize with a belt, one of Jason's nasty hats, cowboy boots or argyle socks and keens. Nothing says little old man like argyles and sandals. And don't think he hasn't gone to school with the socks and sandals because some days, after making sure all his clothes are the appropriate season and facing the correct direction, I'm just too tired to argue about socks.
